INDEPENDENT CATTLEMEN ANNOUNCE UPCOMING ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Hyannis, NE - June 15th and 16th will be the dates for the first annual meeting of the Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska. The meetings will be held at the High School in Valentine, NE and all members and interested parties are encouraged to attend.

"We have a full schedule of speakers, meetings and social events slated for these two days" said convention organizer, Jim Hanna. "Thursday the 15th, we will kick off at 1:00pm with a general session with several top presenters. We will follow that up with an evening social and banquet at the Rosebud Casino. Friday morning, will consist of committee meetings focusing on topics such as animal ID, property taxes, trade issues and the Beef Checkoff. After lunch, we will wrap things up with a final general session which will give members a chance to vote on the policies and by-laws of the organization."

Several notable speakers have been scheduled including; Dave Domina, lead attorney in the Pickett v. Tyson case; John Vansickle, Ag economist from the University of Florida; and Governor Hieneman.

"We encourage everyone to register as soon as possible" said Mary Mulligan, ICON administrative assistant. "There will be registration on-site, but tickets for the Thursday event at the casino must be purchased in advance. We also have rooms blocked at the local motels, but they may fill quickly."
